OSC Preliminary Team

Practice of the OSC Preliminary Team is directed by Head Coach Rachel Funk with support from Assistant Coach Natalie Engel.

Rachel Funk

Rachel is Goggin's Assistant Ice Skating Director. She also coaches OSC's Novice and Intermediate teams.

Rachel is from Roseville near Minneapolis, MN. She started figure skating at age 7, and at 10 she began "precision skating", this was what "synchronized skating" was known as back then. By the time she came to Miami, she had skated on intermediate, open junior and senior teams, as well as coached a synchro team for 3 yearl. At Miami, Rachel majored in Exercise Science with a minor in Mathematics, while skating on the Miami Varsity team finishing Second in the World during her senior year. Rachel recently completed her masters in Exercise Science and now assists Lindsay in running the skating program at Goggin Ice Center. Rachel is a triple gold medalist and also has passed the Canadian Gold test. She thinks OSC is a wonderful club and has enjoyed becoming a part of the OSC Family.
